With his recruitment winding down, Stevenson unveiled his Top 3 Schools.
A 5-Star prospect, Jarin Stevenson has been highly sought after. This recruitment has taken twists and turns but is in its final stages.
The Top 3
Alabama: Although they got into this recruitment late, Alabama was able to force their way into Stevenson’s top three. After missing on their first option at power forward, Arthur Kaluma, the Crimson Tide ramped up their pursuit. Alabama has a strong NIL collective, can offer money, playing time, and will take Stevenson in both the 2023 or 2024 classes. Although he has a top three, it is assumed that Alabama is one of the top two.
North Carolina: The Tar Heels have been on the Pittsboro native for almost two years. He has visited the campus multiple times, and his mother, Nicole, played at the school from 1995 to 1998. Long seen as a North Carolina lean, Stevenson made this recruitment interesting by waiting out a commitment. His visits to other schools have shown that he may not be the lock for UNC that a lot of programs thought he was. North Carolina has scholarships for both 2023 and 2024. Being his hometown team and the school he grew up rooting for, this is one Hubert Davis will want to close on.
Virginia: Likely running third, UVA has also been on Stevenson for almost two years. They offered him a little over a month after North Carolina. Stevenson has made many visits to the school, and for a while, it seemed as though UVA had some momentum. In recent months, they have faltered a bit, but with Stevenson including them in his top three, you can’t count them out.
It is unclear if Stevenson will remain in the 2024 class or reclassify to 2023.
