Can UNC pull him in?
Last week, North Carolina offered AJ Dybantsa. He is the number one player in the 2025 class and is only 16 years old. Currently enrolled at Prolific Prep in Napa, California, Dybantsa is from Massachusetts. He is listed as a 6’9, 200-pound small forward with an advanced game, especially for his age.
Offers
Dybantsa already has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Cal, UCONN, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Providence, Texas, USC, Washington, and now UNC. He will surely add more as his recruitment progresses.
Dominance
- Playing for the U16 USA team in the Americas Championship, Dybantsa averaged 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.
- He has played in many of the top skill camps around the country, including Steph Curry’s.
- When Dybantsa was named the 2022-2023 Massachusetts ‘Boys Basketball Player of the Year’ last season, he had put up 19,1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.5 blocks per game.
- At Peach Jam over the summer, for his AAU team on the Nike circuit, he averaged 25.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
At only 16 years old, he has the ability to play up against much tougher competition. That is exactly why he reclassified from the 2026 class to 2025. There is no reason to dominate every game with your age group when you can play up and face older, more advanced competition.
Hopefully, UNC can get him to come back to the east coast!
