Davis was in attendance for a few of players!
North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis has been watching games at the John Wall Holiday Invitational. Always one of the best holiday tournaments in high school basketball, the teams that attend are usually loaded with talent. This year, there are a few UNC recruits as well as a commit.
Who Is Davis Watching?
Jackson Keith– On Wednesday, the opening day of the tournament, Davis was watching Keith. In that game, he scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Keith is a 4-star small forward in the 2025 class. He has visited UNC a couple of times.
Drake Powell– Yesterday, Powell and Northwood faced Orange, and another prospect that Davis was likely watching. Powell is a 6’5 wing that has become elite over the last year. He scored 17 points in the game.
Cole Cloer– A 2026 wing, Cloer is on UNC’s radar. Coach Davis got to see him play against an elite commit. He had a solid game, and being close by, may be a player to keep an eye on.
The Tournament
This year, there is no shortage of talent. The three mentioned above, as well as Kendre Harrison, Paul McNeil, Eli Ellis, and so many more, continue the tradition of the John Wall being a fantastic event. If you ever get the chance to go, you should. The atmosphere alone shows why North Carolina is the “Hoop State.”
Over the next two days, these games will continue!
