Ingram was a perfect addition to the Tar Heels squad.

North Carolina forward Harrison Ingram has declared for the NBA draft. After playing at Stanford for two seasons, he would transfer to UNC, one of the schools that recruited him out of high school. In his lone year with the Tar Heels, Ingram did it all, becoming one of the most beloved transfers in UNC history.

Stats and Impact

Ingram was undoubtedly a great glue guy. Not only did his game speak for itself, but his attitude and positivity did as well. Throughout the season, you would see him smiling after a big play, “little maning” a defender after bodying him down low, and hyping his teammates.

Offensively, Ingram came to UNC and vastly improved his three-point shooting. In his sophomore season at Stanford, he shot 31.9% from behind the arc. At North Carolina, it jumped to 38.5%. His rebounding helped take pressure off of Armando Bacot, having multiple monster games on the boards. Ingram was a matchup nightmare for most teams, backing down smaller defenders or shooting over them and being able to drive by taller opponents. He was named to the All-ACC Third-Team.

His season averages were:

12.2 points

8.8 rebounds

2.2 assists

Going Pro

Today, Ingram declared for the NBA draft. On most mock boards, he is projected to be selected early in the second round. Not only can he do everything on a basketball court, but Ingram will be a fantastic culture piece for whoever selects him.

Ingram was mostly considered a second-round pick. However, Bleacher Report recently had him all the way up to the 27th overall selection.

His time in Chapel Hill will not be forgotten anytime soon.
