We now know exactly when the game will be played.

This year, there will be no ACC/Big 10 challenge. It has been switched to the SEC that North Carolina will face every season. North Carolina won most of their matchups against the Big 10, but can they replicate it against another power five conference?

Opponent

This season, the Tar Heels will host the Tennessee Volunteers. These two schools are not strangers to one another, as they have played multiple times over the last decade. Tennessee coach Rick Barnes has a shaky history with UNC, after calling out legendary North Carolina coach Dean Smith and Barnes beating the Tar Heels while at Texas multiple times. He is sure to be booed by the crowd.

Game Time

This game will take place on Wednesday, November 29th, at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The announced start time is 7:15 and will be shown on ESPN.

Series History

These schools have faced off a total of six times. North Carolina has won five of those, with the only loss coming in the latest game in 2021. In both 2016 and 2017, the Tar Heels took very close games that came down to the wire. Somehow, the first time the two played was in 2000. You would think these proud programs would’ve seen each other before then.

This game should be one of the best in the conference challenge!
