The former Tar Heel star is headed back up to the NBA!
Just announced by Adrian Wojnarowski, Justin Jackson has been signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jackson has played for multiple teams during his pro career, and is now getting another shot. This season, he had been playing for the G-League Texas Legends alongside Theo Pinson and Tony Bradley.
New Deal
The Minnesota Timberwolves are picking up Jackson, who has had a great year in the G-League. He was averaging 19.9 points per game, along with 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Jackson is shooting 41.6% from behind the three-point line and was the teams leading scorer.
NBA Journey
Jackson was drafted in the 2017 draft with the 15th pick by the Sacramento Kings. Since then, he has played on five other teams: the Dallas Mavericks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics, and the Phoenix Suns. Now, with the Timberwolves, Jackson gets another shot.
He won an NBA championship in 2021 with the Bucks and has made a nice career for himself.
Time With UNC
Jackson was a force during his time with North Carolina. In his final season, he averaged 18.3 points per game, and helped lead the team to a national championship. He was named the 2016-2017 ACC Player of the Year, 2016-2017 All-ACC, an All-American, and named to the NCAA All-Tournament team.
Jackson’s new deal makes him the 10th Tar Heel in the NBA.
