Maye is headed to New England!

Star North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye was taken with the third overall pick in the draft. He was one of, if not the best signal caller that the Tar Heels have ever had. Maye racked up school and conference records before declaring for the NFL.

UNC Legend

Maye took over for Sam Howell, who was great during his time with the Tar Heels. Maye had to fill big shoes, and did that, dominating opponents and consistently setting program highs. During his two seasons as a starter, North Carolina finished 17-10 overall (17-9 when Maye started). The offense was dominant and could score with anyone.

In his three years, Maye completed 618 of his 952 pass attempts, going for 8,018 yards and 63 touchdowns. Something that makes him special is his ability to run. To add to those elite passing numbers, Maye rushed for 1,209 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Maye has both the arm and speed to be successful. He is the prototypical size for an NFL quarterback, and if the franchise surrounds him with the right pieces, there is no reason Maye can’t win a Super Bowl.
