Another commitment for UNC on July 4th!
North Carolina landed its 22nd commitment of the 2024 class today. Tyshun White, a 4-star safety from Buford, Georgia, picked UNC over offers from Michigan State, Maryland, Florida, and others. According to 247Sports, he never made it to his Michigan State visit. He is ranked number 303 on the 247Sports composite. The Tar Heels offered White in January of 2022.
The Player
White is listed at 5’11 and 187 pounds, giving him good size to play safety. He is a great athlete who runs track as well. White has taken a number of trips to Chapel Hill, and his main recruiter, Charlton Warren, is from Georgia as well. He plays for Buford High School, a 7A school that faces good talent every year. Last season, they were undefeated before losing late in the playoffs.
Recent North Carolina commit Zion Ferguson has known White for some time. The two grew up in the same area and are good friends. Ferguson has been recruiting White since making his decision to flip from LSU to North Carolina. Getting multiple guys from Georgia is always a good thing, with it being a recruiting hot spot.
2024 Class
With White’s commitment, UNC now has 22 pledges for 2024. The Tar Heels can expect to see a few more players choose the program within the next month. There are multiple recruits with scheduled decisions coming.
North Carolina will soon have all of their spots filled up. The mix of 3 and 4-star players will make for a solid class.
