North Carolina has landed another commitment for the 2024 class!

The Player

Ashton Woods, a linebacker from Marietta, Georgia, has committed to Mack Brown and North Carolina. Ranked as the number 486 player nationally and the 46th linebacker according to 247Sports, Woods is a three-star. He has a good frame for a linebacker, standing at 6’3 and 210 pounds. Woods has the size and talent to push himself to 4-star status before joining the Tar Heels. Last season, Woods was named his region’s defensive player of the year as well as All-Cobb County. Woods High School, Walton, is a 7A school that finished last season with a 10-3 record. Woods has set up an official visit to North Carolina on June 23rd. Having him on campus can only further solidify his commitment, as he will see the facilities, meet the coaches, and be around players and recruits alike.

We are in the middle of a heavy recruiting season, where North Carolina will attract visitors from all over the country and hope to secure commitments. Additionally, North Carolina will host recruiting weekends and camps throughout the Summer. Having a solid class before high school starts is big for momentum on the recruiting trail. As it stands, the Tar Heels have the 15th overall class in 2024, with 18 three-stars and one four star. Although not as high powered as previous classes, it is a solid start, as players will rise in the rankings. Expect more commitments over the next two months!
