White has vastly improved this season.

Former North Carolina guard Coby White has continued his impressive season into the playoffs. A front-runner for the Most Improved Player Award, White carried his team to a victory in the NBA’s Play-In Tournament last night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Playoff Precision

The 9-seed Chicago Bulls faced the 10-seed Atlanta Hawks. The winner would go on to play the loser of the Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat play-in. The Bulls would win in a big way, holding a double-digit lead for most of the game. That was in large part due to White, who scored 42 points on 15-21 shooting. He was unstoppable, scoring at all three levels. White shot 3-7 from three and 9-10 from the free throw line. Not only was he the game’s highest scorer, but only one other player in the game, Dejounte Murray, scored 30 points or more.

Scoring wasn’t the only thing White did well, as he also added nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

Showing Improvement

As mentioned above, White is a serious candidate for the Most Improved Player award. His season stats have drastically improved, due in large part to taking on a bigger role.

In 2022-2023, White’s averages were 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

This year, his averages jumped to 19.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

White is showing that he can be a cornerstone piece for a winning organization.
