Love went to Durham and beat Duke again.

Caleb Love and the Arizona Wildcats just went to Cameron Indoor and knocked off #2 Duke.

Pregame Hype

The hype had built for this game, not only because it was a top-15 matchup but also because former North Carolina guard Caleb Love (the Duke killer) was back in town. At UNC, Love averaged 17.7 points against the Blue Devils. He was a part of the team that handed legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski his final loss in the Final Four, and Love hit the shot to seal it.

How Did Caleb Do?

This was a great game. Making it even better was that Love and Arizona took the Blue Devils down. Throughout the whole game, he talked trash to Duke guards Jeremy Roach and Tyrese Proctor. Roach knows Love well, as he took the scholarship that Love wanted and then lost to him four times (now five). Love showed off his passing ability for Arizona while also knocking down some huge free throws to ice the game down the stretch. With Duke down three, they threw a full-court pass that was deflected. Love grabbed it and threw it ahead for a slam, similar to the dunk when the Tar Heels beat Coach K in his final home game.

Love Shows Love to Carolina

  • On his shoes, Love wrote “Tar Heel 4L.”
  • In the post-game press conference, Love said, “I’m a Tar Heel for life.”

Highlights

What a great win for Caleb Love in his final trip to Duke!
