Caleb Love Gets Another Shot at Duke Tomorrow Night

Love is in Durham once again!

When Arizona takes on Duke in Durham on Friday night, one Wildcat will have fond memories of the stadium he is in. Former North Carolina star Caleb Love has a history with the Blue Devils. Not only did he grow up a fan, but he also had an offer to play there. That was until current point guard Jeremy Roach took it. Not long after, Love committed to play for the Tar Heels. The rest is history. Not only did Love play a key role in beating Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski in his last ever home game, but he hit the dagger in the Final Four to retire the Blue Devils legend.

Love’s History Against Duke

In seven games against the Blue Devils, Love has averaged 17.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

It’s the best rivalry in sports, and Love just so happened to be a big-time player in it. As a freshman, he helped sweep the Blue Devils. He dunked all over Jaemyn Brakefield.

In his sophomore season, after Duke beat UNC at home, Love went to Cameron Indoor for Coach K’s final home game and dropped 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He wasn’t done yet. In the first ever NCAA tournament matchup between the bitter rivals, Love scored 28 points on 11-20 shooting to retire the coach who chose another player over him. THAT is poetic justice.

Friday night, he gets one more shot at Duke.
