Cadeau was nearly perfect against Tennessee!
Elliot Cadeau should be a senior in high school. Instead, he’s being the floor general UNC needs and creating opportunities in ranked wins. Against Tennessee, Cadeau dished out 10 assists and had no turnovers. That hadn’t been done since Marcus Paige did it in 2015.
Cadeau’s Game is Translating
Cadeau’s court vision was talked about constantly while he was in high school. In his last AAU season, he was the only player averaging more than nine assists on the Nike circuit. When he reclassified, many wondered how he would translate. After all, players that reclass often struggle, especially point guards. Well, Cadeau has already gotten the chance to start, and when he’s on the court, UNC’s offensive numbers skyrocket. Cadeau is getting the ball to where it needs to be and looks confident doing it.
Seeing the Floor
10 assists and no turnovers. It has been eight years since that last happened. Cadeau just did it in his seventh college game. He has pushed the pace, and when the ball is in his hands, the offense runs much smoother. Cadeau is constantly scanning the floor. When UNC was pushing its lead on Tennessee, he was running the floor, waiting for Armando Bacot to get to his spot, hitting him at the perfect time. When he had the ball against the Vols, it led to scoring opportunities.
As UNC heads into a tough stretch, Cadeau can continue to show his abilities against stout competition!
