One of the best recruits wants a visit to North Carolina.

Darryn Peterson, the second-ranked player in the class of 2025, is looking forward to visiting Chapel Hill. He is an elite prospect from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, who is currently playing his high school ball for Huntington Prep in West Virginia.

Recruiting Profile

As you can imagine, being the number two overall player in your class comes with offers from all over. Peterson has offers from North Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, UCLA, and many more. Standing at 6’5, 195 pounds, he is the ideal size for an elite shooting guard.

Already Accomplished

Peterson played for the U16 Team USA squad this summer. In those games, he averaged 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Also impressive is that he did this on 66.7% shooting from the field. In his last season of high school ball, Peterson averaged 23.1 points and 9.1 rebounds.

Visit Coming?

Peterson has already scheduled a visit to Kentucky on October 14th. A source told Travis Graf that he is working on getting to both North Carolina and Kansas. It is early, and Kentucky seems to hold the early edge, but just like with UNC commit Ian Jackson, once they visit Chapel Hill, anything can happen.

Peterson would be a massive pickup in the 2025 class. He is the type of player built for an NBA future.
