We take a look at the North Carolina basketball roster as of today.
With more depth now than when we last wrote about it, this update will provide a more recent outlook.
Guards
RJ Davis- As a senior on this year’s team, big things are expected of Davis. He has improved every season and will need to be a leader on the court. He is a combo guard who can play point or shooting guard. An elite scorer at every level!
Elliot Cadeau- The freshman comes in with high expectations. A 5-star point guard who reclassified, Cadeau dominated high school ball and has elite court vision. His ability to get his teammates the ball will be exciting to see.
Seth Trimble- Probably next season’s best guard defender, Trimble is an athletic point guard that must improve on offense. He has shown his athleticism and defense in spurts and looked great while doing it. If his shot improves, his minutes will rise.
Cormac Ryan- The Notre Dame transfer comes in to improve North Carolina’s shooting ability. Ryan is not only a good shooter but passes the ball well. As a veteran, his leadership will be huge for the Tar Heels.
Paxson Wojcik- Someone who should be a pleasant surprise next year, Wojcik was a good scorer for Brown. He can shoot the ball and get to the rim well. It will be interesting to see what role he plays on next year’s team.
Creighton Lebo- “Biscuit Boy” and the son of current assistant coach, Jeff Lebo.
Rob Landry- “Biscuit Boy”
Forwards
Harrison Ingram- Someone UNC recruited out of high school, Ingram transferred from Stanford. He is a point forward who can do it all. Now on a roster with more talent, seeing Ingram blossom into a great player will not be a surprise. He can shoot, pass, get in the lane, and defends well.
Jae’Lyn Withers- From Charlotte, Withers transferred to UNC from Louisville. He is an athletic hybrid who can stretch the floor, and can play small forward, power forward, and even saw minutes at center for the Cardinals. His game will be fun to watch.
James Okonkwo- The most recent UNC commit, Okonkwo played sparingly at West Virginia. However, he has shown top-tier athleticism and is a good rebounder. He adds much-needed depth to the front court and can play power forward and center.
Zayden High- A freshman who has shown the ability to stretch the floor, High is a player who will take time to develop. With experience, he can become a great player in the future.
Beau Maye- “Biscuit Boy,” with two brothers and a father who played at UNC.
Duwe Farris- “Biscuit Boy”
Center
Armando Bacot- A dominant rebounder, Bacot is back for his fifth season. He can score down low and pass well out of double teams. Bacot deserves a great last year, and the roster around him may very well provide that.
Jalen Washington- Finally looking healthy, Washington has shown his ability to stretch the floor and rebound. His length on defense is nice, and he can alter shots. North Carolina will need the sophomore to step up and provide good minutes while Bacot sits.
With two scholarships left, the roster is subject to change. Who do you want North Carolina to pursue?
