Bacot continues to move up on the scoring list.

North Carolina center Armando Bacot continues to climb up the all-time scoring list within the program. During the Miami game, he passed Sam Perkins and will have a shot to move to second before his time with the program is finished.

Moving Up

Bacot is now third all-time in scoring at North Carolina. Against Miami, he scored his 2,146th point, passing Sam Perkins. Bacot finished last night by pushing his point total to 2,149.

Next Up

In second place is Phil Ford, who has 2,290 points. The Tar Heels have a minimum of eight games left, meaning Bacot would need to average 17.63 points over that stretch to move into second. With North Carolina in position to make the NCAA tournament, that would give him at least nine games, and Bacot would need to average 15.66 points in that time. Should UNC make a run in the ACC and NCAA tournaments, it would drastically improve his chances of moving up again.

Shot At First?

Tyler Hansbrough remains in first with 2,872 career points. That is nearly impossible to break in the short amount of time left. Using the likely nine games, Bacot would need to average over 80 points per game. If North Carolina won the ACC and NCAA tournaments (seven regular season games, four ACCT games with a bye, and six NCAA tournament games), he would still have to average 42.5 points per game over those 17. That record will go untouched for a very long time.

Bacot has had a fantastic career at UNC and continues to break records!
